So PSN has been down for more than a day now. The infamous group of hackers that goes by “anonymous” is claiming responsibility. They claim they are sticking it to Sony because they feel gamers should have the freedom to do whatever they want with a console they paid for. Now I completely agree and I’m a supporter of hackers in general, but when it effects innocent people like you and me I get pissed. I really wanted to watch a movie on NetFlix last night. Nope didn’t work. I feel bad for all the people who wanted to play the recently released Socom 4. What about all the people who had scheduled competitive matches and the people who took off work to play Socom? Apparently Anonymous sees this as a needed sacrifice. I just don’t see why you have to fuck the gamers in the process. 
So I recently ended my movie rental experience with Blockbuster. The only reason I still used Blockbuster was because I could go to a physical store and pretty much get whatever movie I fancied. Well they closed every Blockbuster within a reasonable distance from my house. It was time to switch to NetFlix. I was even more excited because I knew that NetFlix was also on my PS3. Sounds like a match made in heaven. Nope!
We fired up the NetFlix with anticipation only to be greeted with old movies and titles such as “ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES Strippers vs Zombies”. I know that sounds like an excellent cinematic gem but not quite what I was looking for. Basically the NetFlix streaming library is a collection of movies I would maybe watch if they are on TV and nothing else was on. The actual application is horrible as well. It was like an amateur had been paid to quickly come up with something.
I expect more from a company who makes millions and millions of dollars. I mean come on, step up your game.
Today I decided to pull the PS3′s out from their homes and give them a good spring cleaning. If you don’t know how to clean your PS3 I will include my video on how I do it. Seriously only takes me 5 minutes and I do 2 of them. Don’t let your console overheat! Prevent with cleaning! (My ps3 is almost 4 years old now)

The earthquake and tsunami this past week in Japan have been devastating. Sony, Sega, Konami and Square Enix have all announced game delays and cancellations. Sony has pushed back MotorStorm: Apocalypse in Japan, initially set for release on March 17. Sega has delayed the release of Yakuza: Of the End. Capcom also has delayed the release of down loadable content for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in Japan that would be have introduced Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath in the cross over fighter. Final Fantasy online games as well as PlayOnline services will be offline at least for a week. A lot of amazing gaming comes out of Japan, my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy
Are any of you as excited about Batman Arkham City as I am? I fell in love with Arkham Asylum and I’ve been paying attention to any bat related news. The bat is coming our way on October 18th and the 21st in the UK. There is also a possible leak on a new villain…IMBD (which is totally not reliable btw) has listed Mr.Freeze as a character in Arkham City. Mr. Freeze is probably one of my least favorite Batman villains. I am still waitinf for an appearance from the Penguin!
Now that Killzone 3 is out, I’m seeing a lot of talk about the SharpShooter. In fact the Gamestop I was at for the midnight release of Killzone 3 was trying way too hard to push it. I’ve had a few people ask me about it since I did get a chance to use it at CES this year. If you don’t know I got to play Killzone 3 in 3D with the SharpShooter.
Is it cool? Hell yes! It was super fun to play with and reminded me of the many quarters I spent playing House of the Dead but with a super awesome game like Killzone. Would I buy it? YES! If I actually wanted the Move I would totally buy it. But I don’t want the move yet.
Do I think you have an advantage using the SharpShooter against a dualshock player? HELL NO! The SharpShooter is fun to play with but in my opinion is going to actually give you a dis-advantage. A dualshock player will always be able to out shoot and melee you everytime in my eyes. It’s a fun toy, but that’s exactly what it is; a toy!
